Student Oboe Reed Blank
If you are just learning to make reeds, or are a busy oboe teacher who doesn’t have time for the cane selection, gouging, shaping, and tying - good news! I am now offering reed blanks for sale. These are tied in the same manner as my finished student oboe reeds.
These are not scraped. They will not work in your oboe unless you scrape on them. These are not finished reeds. This listing is for one oboe reed blank.
I use the following materials:
Cane gouged with a Hodge/Reeds 'n Stuff gouging machine.
Shape is a Pfeiffer-Mack reproduction.
A brass staple with synthetic cork.
Blank will be tied at 72mm.
Each blank is sterilized in 70% isopropyl alcohol before mailing.
